Often we go to the apps store and read reviews and they can be out of kilter with the way we might feel. Educators often see the use of apps laterally. A 2 Star review for an app by a consumer may well be a 5 Star app in a classroom and of course vice versa.

Dianne Darrow’s Apps According to Bloom’s Taxonomy it is a great framework for thinking about and selecting apps. This 6 part blog was a fun and stimulating read.

Apple’s Reader tool (see above came in very useful). Reader is built into Safari (the web browser). It clears the clutter on a webpage and just gives you the key content. Great for small devices and keeping easily distracted minds on the task in hand!
